In this article, we will attempt to understand the English translation of Surah Tin. There is no dispute that Surah Tin is Meccan. This Surah, known as At-Tin, appears in the final section of the Quran and includes eight short lines.
Allama Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmad Maliki Qurtubi died in 668 AH writes: Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) said: “Al-Tain” refers to the Meccan Mosque of Hazrat Noah (AS), which was built on the hill of Judi, and “Al-Zaytun” refers to the mosque of Bayt al-Maqdis. Al-Dahhak said: “Al-Tain” refers to the Sacred Mosque, and “Al-Zaytun” refers to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
English translation of Surah Tin:
1-By the fig and the olive.
2-And by Mount Sinai.
3-And by the city (Makkah), which is peaceful.
4-Indeed, we have created man in the best of forms.
5-Then we have cast him down to the lowest of all places.
6- However, those who have faith and perform good actions will receive a great reward.
7-Then who can deny you after that in the matter of the Day of Judgment?
8-Is not Allah the Greatest of Judges?
Al-Tin and the Hadith:
He (PBUH) ate Tin and said to his companions, “Eat.” Then he said, “Suppose I say that this fruit has come down from Paradise.” So, I can tell, because the fruits of Paradise are seedless, eat it because it cuts hemorrhoids and is beneficial for the pain in the lower abdomen.

Olive Miswak:
Hazrat Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: How good is the olive miswak, it is from a blessed tree, it removes bad odor and makes the mouth smell good, this is my miswak and the miswak of the prophets before me.
Olive oil:
Olive oil is also used as a salad dressing; the word ‘dressing’ has been applied to salad. “Sibg” means color, and bread becomes colored by dipping it in salad. A good type of olive has been produced in the area of Mount Sinai and its vicinity.
Ahsan Taqwim:
Qadi Abu Bakr bin Al-Arabi said: There is no creation of Allah Almighty more beautiful than man. Allah Almighty has placed in man the ability to know, to will, to speak, to hear, to see, to plan, and to be wise.
The best structure means that man was created with a moderate and upright stature, because other animals are stooped and their faces are also bowed. In contrast, man is upright. He holds food with his hands and takes it to his mouth, without tilting his mouth towards the food.
Summary of Surah Tin:
In Surah At-Tayn, Allah Almighty has mentioned two fruits of Paradise. In addition, Allah Almighty has declared man as His masterpiece. After mentioning Paradise and Hell, He asked man whether there is anyone other than Allah Almighty who is a greater ruler than the rulers of all the worlds.

After studying Surah Tin, one can conclude that this short Surah contains comprehensive subjects. By declaring the human creation as His masterpiece, Allah Almighty is making it clear to the whole world that all the blessings of the entire universe are for man.
