Translation of Surah Talaq

1. O Prophet, when you divorce women, then divorce them at the appropriate time of their waiting period, and reckon the waiting period exactly. Be cautious of Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their houses, nor shall they go out, unless they commit clear lewdness. Such are the limits set by Allah. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah has indeed done himself a great wrong. You never know, maybe after this Allah will create a new situation.

2. When they are close to having reached the end of their waiting period, either keep them honorably or release them honorably. And call in two witnesses from among you, and swear by oath both, and impose on them the testimony for Allah. That is the advice to whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day. Whoever fears Allah, He shall make for him a way out.

3. And He shall sustain him from where he would never have thought. Whoever trusts in Allah—He is the one to rely on. Of course, Allah fulfills His command. For sure, Allah has established a measure for all things.

4.For the women of yours who no longer menstruate—if you are unsure—then their waiting period is three months; and the same for those women who have never menstruated. For those who are pregnant, then their waiting period is when they give birth to their child. Whoever remembers Allah, He will make his affair easy for him.5. That is the word of Allah which He has revealed unto you. Whoever is careful of Allah, He will remit his bad deeds and give him a wonderful reward.

6. Accommodate them [the divorced women] as is within your reach, wherever you live, and do not injure them to harm them. If they are pregnant, then spend on them until the time of their delivery. If they suckle your child, then reward them. Consult each other in consideration, but if you have a dispute, then another woman may suckle the child.

7. Let the rich give to the measure of his wealth, and let him whose provision is limited give of what Allah has provided for him. Allah does not put a burden on a soul with more than it can bear. Allah will bring relief after hardship.

8. How many towns rose in rebellion against the order of their Lord and His apostles! We held them in account with a strict reckoning and punished them with a grievous punishment.

9. They tasted the fruit of their actions, and their fate was utter loss.

10. Allah has kept in store for them a terrible requital. Therefore, O men of understanding. Be warned by Allah. Allah has already sent down to you a Reminder.

11. A Messenger reciting to you the clear verses of Allah, so that he may bring those who believe and do good deeds out of darkness into light. Whoever believes in Allah and does righteous deeds, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will stay forever. Allah has prepared for him an excellent provision.

12. Allah is He who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof. His decree descends among them that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah has covered all things in knowledge.
