The journey of Ascension is one of the miracles of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).The definition of a miracle is that which the human mind cannot understand. There I saw that its fruits (berries) were like the earthen pots of Hijr. I saw four rivers there, two were hidden and two were apparent. Gabriel said that the apparent rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then I was taken to Baitul Mamur, which is the Qibla of the angels, where I met Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). At this station, I was honored with the vision of the Lord of the Universe.

Allah Almighty made fifty prayers obligatory. On the sixth heaven, I met Prophet Musa (PBUH). He asked what gift you received from Allah Almighty. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that fifty prayers have been made obligatory in day and night. Musa (PBUH) said that you should present yourself before your Lord and request a reduction in this, because I have tested the Children of Israel and your Ummah will not be able to offer fifty prayers. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that I presented myself in the Divine Court and requested a reduction, so Allah Almighty reduced it by five prayers. When I met Musa (PBUH) again, he asked, so I informed him that Allah Almighty has reduced ten prayers. Musa (PBUH) said that you should go again to the Divine Court and request a reduction, as your Ummah will not be able to offer so many prayers.

The Holy Prophet kept presenting himself in the Divine Court and requesting a reduction until Allah Almighty made five prayers obligatory, and Allah Almighty declared: “O My Beloved, these are five, but whoever performs them will receive the reward of performing fifty prayers.”
