In this essay we will read about khulasa e Quran (Surah Al-Imram Ayat 35-76). The story of Mary (Maryam) is mentioned starting from verse 35. Imran bin Yashim is identified as her father, and her mother’s name is recorded as Hannah bint Faqoodh. Allah Almighty states:
“When the wife of Imran said: ‘O my Lord! I have vowed that whatever is in my womb shall be dedicated solely to Your service (free from all worldly obligations, devoted to the service of Bayt al-Maqdis), so accept this from me.’”
“When she delivered a Baby Girl, she said: ‘O my Allah ! I have borne a daughter, and Allah knew well what she had delivered. The subsequent verses describe how Allah accepted Mary in His divine care and raised her in the best manner. Prophet Zechariah (Zakariyya, peace be upon him) was appointed as her guardian, and she was placed in a secluded chamber of Bayt al-Maqdis (the Sacred House).
To understand khulasa e Quran (Surah Al-Imram Ayat 35-76) we must read this paragraph. Let’s read this:
One day, when Zechariah (AS) found off-season fruits with Mary, he was astonished and asked: “O Mary! Where did you get these (out-of-season) fruits?” Mary replied: “They are from Allah.” At that moment, a deep desire for offspring arose in Zechariah’s heart, for the Lord who could provide Mary with fruits beyond their season could surely bless him with a child in his old age.
Thus, Zechariah (AS) supplicated to his Lord, saying: “O my Lord! Grant me a pure and righteous offspring from Your grace. Indeed, you are the One who hears all prayers.” While Zechariah (AS) was standing in prayer within his chamber, an angel appeared to him with glad tidings:
“Verily, Allah grants you the glad tidings of a son—Yahya—who will affirm the Divine Word (Jesus, peace be upon him), will be an esteemed leader, detached from worldly temptations, and a messenger of the Almighty.”
Every Muslim must read khulasa e Quran (Surah Al-Imram Ayat 35-76), Given their advanced age and apparent inability to conceive, Allah provided Zechariah (AS) and his wife with a miraculous sign:
“Your indication is that you will be unable to converse with people for three days, except through signs and motions.”
Meanwhile, remember your Lord abundantly in the mornings and evenings.”
Later, through an angel, Allah gave Mary the glad tidings of a son and declared:
“His name shall be Messiah, Jesus (Isa).”
