Can Husband and Wife Have Intercourse During Ramadan?

In this essay we will learn about Can Husband and Wife have Intercourse During Ramadan?

The holy month of Ramadan places a strong emphasis on self-discipline, piety, and worship. For this reason, during a fast, one must abstain from food, alcohol, and marital interactions. The Qur’an and Hadith include unambiguous rulings on this area that Cn Husband and Wife have Intercourse During Ramadan?

Regarding a husband and wife’s marital relationship throughout Ramadan, the Qur’an and Hadith include explicit regulations. There are two states to this problem:

Having sex during Ramzan:

During Ramadan, having sex between a husband and wife while fasting (from sehri to maghrib time) is haram and a serious sin.

According to The Holy Qur’an:

This translates to: “It is lawful for you to have sex with your wives on the night of fasting, they are your garments and you are their garments.” Because Allah saw that you were deceiving yourselves, He pardoned you. Now, have intercourse with them, seek Allah’s will for your life, eat and drink until the white thread of fajr is highlighted by the black thread, and then break the fast at night. This verse makes it very evident that having sex during the day (during Ramadan) is strictly forbidden and that anyone caught doing so must atone.
Having sex at night (from sunrise to sunset):

Allah has permitted husband and wife to have sex during the evenings of Ramadan.

his translates to: “It is lawful for you to have sex with your wives on the night of fasting, they are your garments and you are their garments.”
“It is mandatory to make up for it and expiate with ta’zir and to hold the rest of the day, with one thing, which is sexual intercourse that spoils the fast on a day of Ramadan under fourteen conditions,” this verse makes it clear that marital relations between a husband and wife are acceptable during the nights of Ramadan.

He must plan to fast at night; otherwise, his fast will be void, and he will have to wait.
Because of his closeness to Islam, he must be carefully selected and aware of the ban, which states that there is no forgiveness for sins or coercion.

  • During Ramadan, sexual activity is prohibited. The Almighty will say: {I will grant you the night of fasting to your wives, they are clothes for you and you are clothes for them}… {Now begin to explain them} to the Almighty’s saying: {Then complete the fast until night}. There is no other way to atone for corrupt sexual activity than through the Ramadan of clover, vow, judgement, or expiation. [Al-Baqarah: 187/ 2]
  •  To break the fast by engaging in sexual activity alone: He will not be atoned for anything other than sexual activity, including eating, drinking, hand masturbation, and starting below the vulva, which will result in ejaculation, if he eats and then engages in sexual activity.
  • To be a sinner by engaging in sexual activity with another person: there is no forgiveness for a boy, a traveler who is fasting, a sick person who engages in sexual activity with the intention of obtaining a license or otherwise, a person who commits adultery and forgets to fast, or a traveler who breaks the fast for adultery because it is acceptable for him.
  • To think that his fast is correct: Those who purposefully have sex after eating and forget to fast, believing that he has broken the fast by eating, are not atoned, even though it is more appropriate to invalidate his fast with this sexual activity.
  • Not to be wrong: Because there is no sin, there is no atonement for someone who engages in sexual activity believing that it will be nightfall or entering Maghrib and then engages in sexual activity during the day. It turns out that he was not fasting because he was against it; therefore, fasting on this day was no longer due, so it was not required to set foot on it as expiation, such as the traveler’s fast, or as if there were evidence that it was from Shawwal. Because there is no atonement for the person who went insane or died at that time due to incapacity, the occurrence of insanity or death definitely extinguishes the atonement.
  • That the sexual encounter is ascribed to him: Unless he entices her to do so, he will not be atoned for a woman’s disease if he is brought down by insertion.
  • If a sexual encounter involves entering the glans or the amount of its lump, the person who has not accomplished penetration to the specified degree must retain it; there is no forgiveness.
  • There is no other form of atonement for stepping on a vagina than a vulva, hence sexual activity should always take place in the vagina, whether it is a vagina, a dead lady, or a beast. Sodomy and vaginal sex in women are akin to treading on the vulva.
  • He must be humble, not mutawwa: the lady is simply required to judge, and there is atonement for the offender rather than any restitution for the object.

A person is also referenced in the Hadith if he does such an act, i.e., cohabitating with his mankuha throughout the day, and there is a method and order to make amends. Let’s read more about it:

According to this hadith, if someone engages in sexual activity during the month of Ramadan, they must atone for it by doing one of the following:

If at all possible, a slave can be freed by fasting for two months in a row (60 days).

Providing for sixty people in need (if you lack the stamina to fast)

Conclusion:

The key takeaway from the debate above is that cohabitation is prohibited throughout the month of Ramadan, however it is acceptable for a husband and wife to conduct the first act before Sehri when they break the fast at night and husband and wife to have sex in Ramadan. Only from the west until before dawn is intimacy acceptable.
