The hour of acceptance: It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever prays Maghrib, it is as if he has prayed the whole night.” (Sahih Muslim) – This hadith is clear evidence that Maghrib prayer can bring us the reward of praying the whole night.
The Path to Paradise: It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays six rak’ahs after the Maghrib prayer, a house will be built for him in Paradise.” (Sunan Tirmidhi) — This simile clarifies the greatness of this prayer.
Identifying the Hypocrites: It was narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “This prayer (the Maghrib) is very difficult for the hypocrite. He knows that we, the angels, are witnesses for him, yet he leaves it.” — This prayer is what distinguishes between a believer and a hypocrite.
Condition for the acceptance of the deed: Allah says: “Guard the prayers, especially the middle prayer.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 238) — This verse advises us to guard the Maghrib prayer especially.
