- By those who draw out (souls) with a strong force,
- And by those that let go gently,
- And by those that glide swiftly,
- Then by those that rush ahead,
- And those who set things in order by command.
- On the Day when the shaking event shakes,
- And a second blast would be close behind it,
- Hearts on that Day will be shaken,
- Eyes would be cast down in fear.
- They said: “Is it possible that we shall be revived as we were at the beginning?”
- Even though we had become decayed bones?
- They will exclaim: “That would certainly be a loss!”
- But it is only one great blast,
- And lo! They will be on the earth’s surface.
- Did I tell you the tale of Musa (Moses)?
- When his Lord proclaimed to him in the holy valley of Tuwa.
- “Go to Pharaoh, for surely he has transgressed.”
- Tell him: Do you want to be purified?
- And I will take you to your Lord so that you may fear him.”
- So, Musa exposed him to the great sign.
- But Pharaoh refuted and disobeyed.
- Then he turned away in haughtiness,
- Mustered his people and said:
- “I am your greatest lord!”
- So, Allah Almighty dealt with him through punishment in dunya and akhirah.
- Verily, there is a reminder in this for the pious.
- Are you harder to create than the heavens which We have constructed?
- We raised its ceiling high and completed it.
- We made its night dark and created its light.
- And then we spread out the earth,
- Producing its water and its pasture,
- And firmly fixed the mountains,
- As a provision for you and your beast of burden.
- But when the great disaster arrives,
- On that Day, man will recall what he had exerted himself in effort,
- And Hell will be exposed in sight to all who have eyes.
- Regarding the one who has overstepped,
- And chose the life of the world,
- His home will certainly be Hell.
- But whoever had reverence for standing before his Lord
- And held himself back from evil desires,
- His home will certainly be Paradise.
- They seek from you information about the Hour: “When will it be established?”
- How would it concern you to mention it?
- The knowledge of it is only with your Lord.
- You are tasked merely to give a warning to those who fear it.
- On the Day that they view it, there will appear to them to be but an evening or a morning.
