Reasons for calling the Day of Judgment a Ghashiyyah
(1) That Day will cover the young with torment.
(2) The Day of Judgment is called “Ghashiyyah” because that which encompasses something else from all sides is called its Ghashiyyah.
(3) The Hour will come suddenly and cover people with Allah’s punishment, as it is stated in this verse:
Are these people safe from the fact that something will cover them from Allah’s punishment? (Yusuf: 107)
(4) The Hour will cover all the first and the last of mankind.
(5) The terrifying scenes of the Hour and its terrifying circumstances and hardships will cover people.
The severity of the punishment for the disbelievers
On the Day of Judgment, the faces of the disbelievers will be distressed, because they were arrogant in worshipping Allah Almighty in this world. They will do difficult deeds in Hell; they will be dragged around with chains and heavy and heavy chains around their necks.
