In this article, we will read about Surah Inshirah English Translation. All commentators and researchers agree that this Surah is Makki. It is a Surah consisting of eight verses.
Translation of Surah Inshirah English:
1-Have we not expanded your chest?
2-And have We not removed from you that burden that made you stoop?
3-Which made your back bend.
4-And we have exalted your remembrance.
5- Surely, with every burden comes a blessing.
6- Without question, every difficulty brings its relief.
7-So, when you are finished (from preaching the commandments), then practice.
8-And turn your heart towards your Lord.
Meaning of Sharh Sadr
“Sharh” means: To soften, expand, and open, that is, Have We not expanded your chest, or have we softened your chest for Islam?
So, whoever Allah intends to guide, He opens his chest for Islam. (Al-An’am: 125)
In this chapter, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) receives divine reassurance. O beloved, have We not expanded your blessed chest? This means that we have filled your blessed chest with all the knowledge of the universe.
Lightening the burden:
O beloved, we have lightened your burden (of prophethood) so that you can fulfill the responsibilities of prophethood with ease.
Elevating the remembrance of His Prophet:
Allah has elevated the remembrance of His last Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), so much that there is no moment in the universe when the Messenger of Allah is not mentioned. There is a Hadeeth Qudsi. Allah the Almighty said: Whenever I am mentioned, you will also be mentioned with Me.
Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, Hazrat Jibreel came to me and said: My Lord and your Lord says: I have increased your remembrance by one. I said: Allah knows best. He said: When I am mentioned, you are also mentioned with it. (Jami’ Al-Bayan, Hadith No. 29068)
So, no one else has decreased or been decreased by decreasing it.
