In this article, we will understand the Surah Adiyat English Translation. “Adith” literally means: the runners, it refers to fast horses or camels. All commentators are confident and certain that Surah Adiyat has eleven verses.
Surah Adiyat English Translation
1-By those horses that run while panting.
2-Then by those who make sparks from the stones.
3-Then by those who destroy in the morning.
4-Then at that time they blow dust.
5- At the appointed time, they enlist in the antagonist’s military.
6- Verily, mankind demonstrates profound ungratefulness to its Lord.
7-And surely, he is a witness to this.
8- Undeniably, humankind clings desperately to the pursuit of wealth.
9-So, does he not know when those in the graves will be raised?
10-And what is in the breasts will be opened.
11- Truly, their Sustainer will be fully cognizant of them on that Day.
Introduction to Surah Adiyat
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) says that I was sitting near the Black Stone when a man asked me about “Adiyat Dhabha”. I said, “This refers to the horses that run very fast in the way of Allah and return in the evening when people light a fire for food.” The man passed by me and went to Hazrat Ali (RA).
After hearing Ibn Abbas’s (RA) explanation, he sought Ali’s (RA) perspective on the same matter.He told him: Go and bring Hazrat Ibn Abbas to me. Then Hazrat Ali said to Hazrat Ibn Abbas: “Why do you tell people something that you do not know, by Allah!”
At that time, we had only two horses, one was with Hazrat Zubair bin Al-Awwam (RA) and the other was with Hazrat Ma’d bin Al-Aswad. In that case, how would it be correct to attribute “al-Adiyat dhabaha” to horses? So, it refers to the camels that run from Arafat to Muzdalifah, then when the people stop at Muzdalifah, they light a fire, and “al-Mughayrat Subhaan.” (al-Adiyat: و) refers to the camels that run from Muzdalifah to Mina in the morning, and they are slaughtered one after the other. “(Al-Udaith: 4) refers to the dust that rises from the trampling of these camels.

Condemnation of Greed in Surah Adiyat
Hazrat Ibn (RA) narrates that I heard the Prophet (PBUH) saying: If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would ask for a third valley, and only Human nature remains insatiable in its material cravings, but Allah’s acceptance awaits every genuine seeker of pardon. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 6436, Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1049, Musnad al-Hamd, Vol. 6, p. 55, Vol. 3, p. 247)

In Surah Adiyat, the entire life of a person is briefly described as man is basically greedy. He loves wealth and things excessively. He forgets the thought of the Hereafter.
