The Virtue of Eating Suhoor in Ramadan

In this article, we will try to get information about the virtues of eating Suhoor in Ramadan, the month of fasting, which is blessed by Allah Almighty. This is very informative article about The Virtue of Eating Suhoor in Ramadan

Blessings in Suhoor

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while explaining the virtues of eating Suhoor in Ramadan and encouraging his nation to eat Suhoor, said, as narrated by Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Eat Suhoor, for there is blessing in it.

Contrasts Between Islam and the People of the Scripture

The way of performing deeds and actions is different between Muslims and the People of the Book. While clarifying the difference between Muslims and the People of the Book in fasting, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told his nation that the way of a Muslim is that he arranges Suhoor to fast. This also made clear the virtues of eating Suhoor in Ramadan. As it is narrated from Hazrat Umar and Ibn Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the last Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The difference between our fasts and those of the People of the Book is eating Suhoor (because the People of the Book do not eat Suhoor).

Adhan and Suhoor Eating

It is also very important for the common people to be aware of how long Suhoor should be eaten and when they should stop eating and drinking. Some people eat Suhoor while listening to the Adhan. For these friends, the following blessed hadith can be a guiding light.

Before that, let us understand this basic fact that during the time of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), there were two Muezzins (Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him)) and both of them used to give the Adhan at different times.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had two Muezzins. Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) gives the call to prayer at night (i.e. the call to prayer for Tahajjud), so eat and drink until you hear the call to prayer (Fajr) from Abdullah bin Umm Maktum. (Then stop eating and drinking)

Conclusion

There is no other opinion on this, as the virtue of eating Suhoor in Ramadan has been mentioned in the hadiths. That is why it is not preferred for Muslims to fast without eating or drinking, meaning without Suhoor. If there is a reason for compulsion, such as not being able to open their eyes at the time of Suhoor, then it is permissible
