The Almighty, Allah Almighty, says in the Holy Quran:

In fact, in the Book of Allah, there are a dozen months with Allah because he made the heavens and the earth. Of these, four are sacred.

To understand the topic of the Fast of 27 Rajab in Islam, we must read this paragraph. One of these four Holy months is the month of Rajab, and Imam Muhammad Ghazali (may Allah be pleased with him) says in Mukashidah al-Qulub that Rajab is in fact tarjib, meaning honor. It is also referred to as al-Hasb, that is, to flow fast, since during this blessed month, the stream of mercy on those who repent flows fast, and the light of acceptance is granted to the worshippers. That is why it is also referred to as Asm, since one will not hear the sound of war and fighting during this month. Hence, this month is also referred to as Asb since during this month Allah Almighty showers mercy and forgiveness on His servants, where worship will be accepted, and prayers will be answered. It is called Rajab. The name of one river in the Paradise is Rajab, and its water is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, and colder than ice. The water of it will be the lot of those who fast in Rajab. Whoever performs fasting during Rajab, Allah Almighty will write to him the reward of 60 months of fasting.

Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) also said about the Fast of 27 Rajab in Islam that the Messenger of Messengers, the Accepted Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There is a day and a night in Rajab whoever fasts in that day and prays (i.e., prays) in evening, it is as though he fasted 100 years and stayed awake 100 years. And this is the 27th of Rajab.

Shu-aib al-Iman had narrated about the Fast of 27 Rajab in Islam:

On one night in Rajab, whoever performs good in it will have a reward of 100 years of good performance, that is the 27 th night in Rajab. Whosoever prays 12 rak’ahs in this night, and recites in each rak’ah Surah Al-Fatiha and some other Surah, and Ta’hiyat in every two, then when he has finished 12, he must say the following 100 times: Subhan Allah, Al-Hamdu Lillahi, La ilaha illallah, and Allah is the Greatest and thereafter must recite Durood Shareef 100 times and do whatever he wishes to his worldly and hereafter. Whoever prays and fasts in the morning, Allah will accept whatever he says, but not the prayer of sin.
