So, regarding this night, Hazrat Anas (RA) narrates that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: “Those who worship on the twenty-seventh (27th) night of Rajab will receive the reward of one hundred (100) years of worship.

12 Rakats and the Holy Night: Shab-e-Miraj:

Those who pray twelve (12) rak’ahs of prayer on that night, reciting Surah Fatiha in each rak’ah and reciting the Quran If one recites any Surah of the Holy Quran and recites the Tashahhud (Tahiyat-ul-Lillahi) in two rak’ahs, then makes the Salam (after the Durood) and after praying twelve (12) rak’ahs, he recites the following Tasbeeh one hundred (100) times: “Subhan Allah, Al-Hamdu Lillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar” – then he recites Astaghfirullah one hundred (100) times and Durood Shareef one hundred (100) times.

Then he supplicates for whatever he wants regarding the affairs of this world and the Hereafter and fasts in the morning. Allah Almighty will surely accept all his supplications, except that he does not supplicate for any sin, for such supplications will not be accepted.

Degrees of Voluntary Worship:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that:

“And My servant does not draw near to Me with any worship that is more beloved to Me than the worship that I have made obligatory upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with the Nawafil (optional acts of worship) – until I do not accept it.

I love him, so when I love him, I become his ears with which he hears, I become his eyes with which he sees, I become his hands with which he holds, I become his feet with which he walks, and when he asks me, I certainly give it to him.” –

Hazrat Hameed bin Abdur Rahman (RA) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.” –

Moreover, regarding the importance of voluntary prayers, it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the first thing a servant will be asked about is his prayers. If they are found complete, they will be written in full, and if there is any deficiency in them, Allah Almighty will say: ‘Look, do you have any voluntary prayers?’ So, the obligatory prayers the deficiency will be filled up with voluntary prayers, and so it will be with all deeds.” –

Ibn al-Munkadir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that only three (3) worldly pleasures will remain:

1. The pleasure of waking up at night

2. The pleasure of meeting one’s brothers

3. The pleasure of praying in congregation some scholars says that at dawn, Allah Almighty turns to the hearts of those who have prayed all night and fills them with light. Then the light of these pure servants is transferred to the hearts of the heedless. Some of the early scholars have quoted Allah Almighty as saying: There are some of my servants whom I love and they love me.

They yearn for me and I yearn for them. They remember me and I remember them. They look at me and I look at them. If you act according to their way, I will love you, and if you deviate from them, I will be angry with you.

The sign of these servants is that they watch the shade during the day as a shepherd watches his sheep, and after sunset they take refuge in the shelter of the night as birds hide in their nests. Then when the darkness of the night falls, the beloved goes into solitude with his beloved, then they stand up for Me and put their faces on the ground for My sake, supplicating to Me, mentioning My blessings, asking forgiveness for their sins, some weep, some scream, some sigh.

The hardships they endure are before my eyes. I am aware of the complaints they make in my love. In this way we can understand the importance of The Holy Night: Shab-e-Miraj.

My greatest gift to these people is that I pour some of my light into their hearts. The second gift is that if the seven heavens and the seven earths were brought in comparison to these righteous servants, I would prefer them (i.e. my servants).

The third gift is that I turn my face towards them. What do I want to give to those whom I turn towards in this way? Malik Ibn Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when a servant wakes up at night, If one prays Tahajjud, Allah Almighty comes close to him. This state of burning, tenderness and tenderness was created in the hearts of these holy people because they had the opportunity to be close to Allah Almighty.

That is, the purpose of worshipping throughout the night is solely to find that hour in which Allah Almighty accepts all prayers. We have learnt about The Holy Night: Shab-e-Miraj in this essay. Therefore, it is prayed to Allah Almighty that Allah Almighty may grant us all the ability to worship during that hour of the night. Amen.
