Let the one who asks of Me be given. Let the one who seeks My forgiveness be forgiven.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari, 1145; Sahih Muslim, 758)

Spiritual Benefits of Dua for Tahajjud:
The Tahajjud prayer offers many spiritual and emotional benefits. First of all, it purifies the heart and removes haughtiness. Besides strengthening faith-Iman, it also enhances reliance-Tawakkul-upon Allah. The person who performs this prayer develops tranquility and confidence in the fact that Allah is always listening to his words.
Moreover, the Dua for Tahajjud is a remedy for anxiety, depression, and worldly worries. It gives peace to the troubled heart and hope to the hopeless. It is when in the still of the night one is complaining before Allah that the heart finds contentment and strength to face life’s challenges.
The Quran says:
“Is it not with the remembrance of Allah that hearts find rest?” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:28)
How to Perform Tahajjud, Dua for Tahajjud:
Tahajjud is performed after the Isha prayer and before the Fajr prayer; it is preferably performed during the last third of the night. The Prophet (PBUH) used to pray eight rak‘ahs and then make long supplications. However, even two rak‘ahs offered sincerely are enough to earn Allah’s mercy.
After the prayer, one should raise his hands and make dua with humility, acknowledging his weaknesses and expressing gratitude. The dua can be in Arabic or in one’s own language. Praising Allah, sending blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH), asking for forgiveness, and seeking guidance-all that the heart desires-should be the beginnings of a dua.
