Translation of Surah Hashr English

1. All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
2. It is He who drove out the disbelievers of the People of the Book from their homes when the first army was gathered, while you did not think that they would go out, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah. Then the punishment of Allah came upon them from where they did not expect, and cast terror into their hearts, so that they began to destroy their homes with their own hands and with the hands of the believers. So, O people of sight, take heed.
3. And if Allah had not ordained for them an exile, He would have punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter, theirs is the punishment of the Fire.
4. that is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah, then indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.
5. (O Muslims!) Whatever palm tree you cut down or left standing on its roots, it was by Allah’s permission, and that He might humiliate the disobedient.
6. And what Allah has given His Messenger from them; you have not used horses or camels for it. But Allah gives His Messengers power over whom He wills, and Allah has power over all things.
7. What Allah has given His Messenger from the people of the villages, is for Allah and the Messenger and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that he may not wander among your wealthy.
Receive what the Messenger offers you and abstain from what he prohibits. Be aware of Allah—truly His punishment is harsh.
8. And for the poor who have been expelled from their homes and wealth, seeking the bounty of Allah and His pleasure, and who help Allah and His Messenger. These are the true (Muslims).
9. And for those who have taken refuge and faith before them, who love those who come to them from their homes, and find no aversion in their breasts for that which is given to the emigrants, and prefer it over their own lives, even if they are in need, and who are saved from the greed of their own souls. Those are the successful.
10. And for those who come after the emigrants, who pray: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brothers who have believed before us, and let there be no hatred in our hearts towards the believers. Our Lord! Indeed, you are the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.
11. Have you not seen the hypocrites who say to their disbelieving brothers among the People of the Book, “If you are expelled, we will certainly go out with you and will never listen to anyone in your matter, and if you are fought against, we will certainly help you?” And Allah bears witness that they are liars.
12. If they are expelled, they will not go out with them, and if they are fought against, they will not help them, and if they help them, they will turn their backs and flee, then they will not be helped.
13. But the fear of you in their hearts is greater than the fear of Allah, because they do not understand.
14. They cannot fight you all together except in fortified towns or behind walls. Their fighting is fierce. You think they are united, while their hearts are divided. That is because they do not understand.
15. Their condition is like that of the former people, who have just been punished for what they did, and for them is a painful punishment.
16. (And) the example of Satan is like that of Satan: he says to man, “Disbelieve.” Then when he disbelieves, he says, “Indeed, I am free from you, for I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”
17. So the end of both of them is that they will both be in Hell, to abide therein forever. That is the recompense of the wrongdoers.
18. O you who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look at what it has sent forth for tomorrow, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Aware of what you do.
19. And be not like those who forgot Allah, then Allah made them forget themselves. Those are the disobedient.
20. The people of Hell and the people of Paradise are not equal. Only the people of Paradise are of good will.
21. If we had sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would have seen it bowing down and splitting apart for fear of Allah. And we set forth these examples for the people that they may reflect.
22. He is Allah; there is no god but him, the Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
23. He is Allah; there is no god but Him, the King, the Pure, the Peace, the Giver of Security, the Guardian, the Almighty, the Mighty, and the Great. Glory is to Allah above what they associate with Him.
24. He is Allah, the Creator, the Fashioner, and the Shaper. To Him belong the best names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
