This word is mentioned in its fourth verse. It has two bows. It was revealed in Madinah. The difficulties of Makkah life were of a different nature.

The difficulties that Muslims were facing in Madinah life were of a different nature. Here the Muslims received permission for jihad and the era of open confrontation with the infidels began, now there was a need for such valiant and brave Mujahideen whose words and deeds were completely consistent.

Whatever they say with their tongues, they should act on it exactly. Those who contradict their words and deeds.

English Translation of Surah As-Saff

  • All beings in the heavens and the earth celebrate Allah’s perfection; He alone is the Mighty and the Wise.
  • you who believe! Why do your actions not match your words?
  • It is a great abomination in the sight of Allah that you do not do what you are told.
  • Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His way as if they were a wall of lead.
  • When Moses addressed his people, he said, “O my people, why do you cause me distress, knowing well that I am the envoy of Allah to you?” So as they strayed, Allah let their hearts go astray. And Allah grants no guidance to those who wrong themselves
  • irationally And when Jesus, son of Mary, had spoken to them, “O Children of Israel! I am, indeed, the Messenger of Allah sent to you, to validate the Torah before me, and to herald a Messenger who shall come after me, bearing the name Ahmad.
  • And when he appeared among them with clear and convincing signs, they said, “This is clearly sorcery.”
  • And who is more wicked than he who forges a lie against Allah while he is invited to Islam? And Allah does not guide the unjust individuals.
  • They want to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will complete His light, although the unbelievers dislike it.
  • It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists dislike it.
  • you who believe! Shall I guide you to a transaction that will deliver you from a painful punishment?
  • Have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and strive hard in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That alone is for your own good, if you were to comprehend.
  • He will forgive you your sins and bring you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and gardens of perpetual abode in beauty and purity. That is the mighty triumph.
  • And that which you wish for is assistance from Allah and acceleration of the victory, and convey good news to the believers.
  • you who believe! Be the assistants of Allah, as Jesus, son of Mary, addressed the disciples and said, “Who will be my assistants in the cause of Allah?” The disciples replied, “We are the assistants of Allah.” Then some of the Children of Israel believed and some disbelieved. Then we made the believers victorious over their enemies, and they were the victors.

Summary of Surah As-Saff

In Surah Saf, Allah Almighty loves those who fight in His way in rows, as if they were as strong as a building made of lead.

This Surah exhorts the believers to believe in Allah, to follow the path He has shown them, and to do good deeds with sincerity. Every Muslims must read Surah As-Saff
