d deliIn this Article we will read Surah Al-Jumu’ah.In verse number 9 of this Surah, there is the word “Al-Jumu’ah”. This is the reason why the name of this Surah was suggested. It has two ruku’s.
This Surah was revealed in Medina. This Surah begins with the glorification of Allah Almighty and the description of His praiseworthy attributes. Allah Almighty, after the command of His exalted glory, has described the praiseworthy perfections of His beloved, may Allah be pleased with him.
By mentioning Amin, He refuted the false claim of the Jews who thought that prophet hood was only the domain of the family of Israel.
No non-Israelite can become one. He told them that prophet hood is the grace of Allah Almighty and He is the Almighty and the Almighty, He exalts whomever He wishes with His grace.
No one can prevent Him from doing so, nor does anyone have the right to object to this gift of His. He sent him in Amin, such a great and exalted Messenger, whose good deeds and blessings are being mentioned here.
Whoever recites the verses of the Lord and listens to them, this is the tower from which the rays of progress and guidance will continue to emanate forever.
Translation of Surah Al-Jumu’ah
- Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, the King, the Exalted, the Mighty, and the Wise.
- It is He who sent among the unlettered a Messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom. Indeed, before that they were in clear error.
- And for others who have not yet met them, and He is the All-Wise.
- This is the bounty of Allah, He bestows it upon whom He wills, and Allah is the Giver of great bounty.
- The example of those who were given the Torah and then did not carry it is like that of a donkey carrying books. An evil example for those who deny the verses of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
- Say, “O you who are Jews! If you think that you are the friends of Allah to the exclusion of others, then wish for death if you are truthful.”
- And they will never wish for it because of what their hands have sent forth. And Allah knows the wrongdoers best.
- Say, “Indeed, the death from which you flee will surely come upon you. Then you will be returned to Him who knows all that is hidden and all that is open. Then He will inform you of what you used to do.”
- you who believe! When the call to prayer is given on the day of Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade. It would be better for you, if only you knew.
- So when the prayer is finished, travel through the land and seek of the bounty of Allah and remember Allah much that you may succeed.
- And when they see a trade or a spectacle, they rush upon it and leave you standing, saying, “What is with Allah is better than spectacle and trade, and Allah is the Best Provider.”
