Translation of Surah Jinn English

  • It has been made known unto me that there are some of the jinn who listened (to me reciting the Quran), and so they went (to their people) and informed: We have heard a weird Quran.
  • Whoever guides unto goodness, we believe in him, and we will not make anyone a partner with our Lord.
  • And our Lord is majestic, He has neither a wife nor a son.
  • And amongst us were some of those who used to fabricate false things against Allah.
  • And we assumed that neither humans nor the jinn would ever fabricate a falsehood against Allah.
  • And some of the men used to take refuge in the men of the jinn, so they instigated more rebellion.
  • And they thought just as you think, that Allah would not ever send anyone (as a messenger).
  • And when we sought to reach the sky, we discovered it fortified with vigilant guardians and blazing flames.
  • And we would sit in their homes (heavens) listening, so let him who is listening find a burning coal prepared for him.
  • And we do not know whether the harm is intended for the people of the earth or if their Lord wants to guide them.
  • A number of us were steadfast upon righteousness, and some turned aside, each moving along different ways.
  • It has become clear to us that Allah cannot be frustrated, neither on earth nor by any attempt to flee.
  • And when we heard the Message, we believed in it, so whoever believes in his Lord, he shall not be in fear of loss or injustice.
  • And there are amongst us some who are obedient and some who are disobedient, so he who obeys, then such are the ones who have found the right path.
  • But the wrongdoers will be the fuel of Hell.
  • And had they been steadfast, We would have sent upon them an abundance of water to drink.
  • That We may try them thereby, and in truth whosoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will punish him with a severe punishment.
  • And surely are the mosques of Allah; so do not call upon anyone besides Allah.
  • When the servant of Allah stands devotedly in supplication, they gather against him.
  • Announce: It is my Lord I call, and I do not set up anyone alongside Him.
  • “Declare: I possess no authority to secure gain for you, nor to shield you from loss.”
  • Proclaim: None can deliver me from Allah’s grasp, nor may I seek any haven other than Him.
  • However, I am bound to proclaim the revelation and command of Allah. And for him who disobeys Allah and His Messenger is the Fire of Hell in which he will reside eternally.
  • Until the moment arrives when they encounter the warning, then they shall perceive whose helpers were powerless and scarce. Say: I do not know whether the promise you await is near, or if my Lord has appointed a length of time for it.
  • He is fully aware of the mysteries beyond perception, and He grants no one knowledge of His concealed matters.
  • But He makes it known to the Messenger whoever He will, then He posts in front of him and behind him guards.
  • So that he may perceive well that they have delivered the messages of their Lord and that Allah has taken every affair into His care and has enumerated all things.
